Electrical Contractors: Solving Power Challenges in Hayden, Idaho

Hayden homeowners have plenty of choices when it comes to electrical contractors, and most companies serving Kootenai County do solid work. So how do you pick the right electrician for your project? After years in the trade, here is what we tell friends and neighbors to look for, no matter who they end up hiring.

Start with the license. Idaho requires electrical contractors to be licensed, and you can verify any company on the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses website in about a minute. Problem Solved Electric holds Idaho electrical contractor license 072429 and is licensed in Washington as well. A reputable contractor will gladly share their license number, so be cautious with anyone who will not.

Ask how the work is priced. The contractors who earn the best reputations around here give you a firm number before the work starts, not an hourly guess that grows as the day goes on. We quote a fixed price up front, often from a photo of your panel, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Make sure permits are part of the plan. Panel replacements, generator hookups, EV charger circuits, and hot tub wiring all require an electrical permit and inspection in Kootenai County. A contractor who suggests skipping the permit is putting your insurance coverage and your future home sale at risk. We pull the permit and meet the inspector on every job that needs one.

Read recent reviews, not just the star rating. Look for patterns. Does the company show up when promised, explain the work clearly, and stand behind it afterward? Problem Solved Electric holds a 5.0 rating on Google with 139+ reviews from homeowners across Hayden, Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, and Rathdrum, and we respond to every single one.

Match the contractor to the job. Some shops focus on new construction, others on service work. Our specialty is residential service: panel upgrades and replacements, standby and portable generator hookups, EV chargers, hot tub and sauna wiring, mini split circuits, troubleshooting, and repairs, Monday through Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM.

Whoever you call, an electrician who is licensed, permits the work, prices it clearly, and communicates well will solve your power challenges the right way. If you would like that to be us, call or text (208) 352-0662 or book online for a free quote.
